Bolivia

The people of Bolivia are blessed with a rich and diverse heritage, with many Bolivians remaining hidden from modern civilization to this day. The President of Bolivia, at the time this ethnography was started, Juan Evo Morales, has sent planes equipped with heat-sensitive detectors to locates these people, in order that they will be left alone, and not lose any of their land to loggers. President Morales is highly protective of indigenous people and is the first indigenous President of Bolivia. All others have been extrangeros, having been born to parents with at least some European ancestory. Morales wants to do as much as possible to protect the people of Bolivia, particularly the indigenous people.

Morales is Catholic, and current policies regarding missionary passports show his preference towards those of the Catholic faith via differences in the visa fees. Non-Catholic missionaries pay a much higher fee for their visas than Catholic missionaries do.
